13x7" Maple home made snare

13x7" Snare, 6ply maple, rounded edges, dark brown wax finish & the cheapest parts I could find.

I made this thing when I was just out of college and dirt-poor. So all crappy parts got replaced over time with higher quality parts. The strainer is a nickelworks now, like all my custom snares. This was my workhorse snare for a good 3 years. Now it's the spare ;)

This is the first snare I did back in 2004 and you can hear it on the 2005 Dark Intentions MCD. Sounds very controlled, moderate sustain, low volume.
