This unit contains the original "Whammy I" chip and that is the main reason why I bought it (besides wanting a rack unit). It sounds really warm and analog. Downside is that it makes a hell of noise. So you can`t keep it in your signal when you don`t use it.

The IPS 33B comes from the years when Digitech meant "great quality": apart its weight (lol) the proof is that, despite its age, this unit still keeps his spot in so many rigs nowadays.

So, let's start from the software itself, still made by IVL and featuring the same algorithm found in the 1st whammy pedal.
What more, as there are 2 pitch lines you can play with slightly different offsets, sound comes out quite nice!
2 assignable expression outputs (more avaliable under MIDI control) make then whammying really cool :-)

It does not stop here, as you have a multi-part intelligent pitch shifter that can play in harmony according to scales (you can create your own ones too), and then you can tweak the sound even more with arpeggiator and delay lines... and the list goes on.

Nice long delay that's sparkly sounding. Lots of features like Hold, Warp, Reverse, and Tap Tempo. Lately I've been using it in conjunction with my DMM when tremolo picking for a full sound. I don't really like using it by itself though because the delay is just too pronounced for my liking. However, I could see myself using the warp feature sometime for a crazy bridge.

Analog tape delay. Very warm and has lots of interesting delay patterns because of the playback heads. Also, it gets crazy sci-fi movie oscillation when you crank the intensity knob. The reverb doesn't work but I'll eventually get that fixed. This may be my favorite thing that I own.

Looper and delay. I use it for the looping. Tons of features. Off the board right now because I'm not using any looping currently and it adds a lot of noise. It gets the job done but eventually I plan on replacing it with the EHX 2880 looper (that is if I start using looping a little more).
